Throwing the fatwah into the fire…?

Influential Islamic scholar to issue fatwa against terrorism
BBC News ^ | 2nd March 2010 | BBC News

An influential Muslim scholar is to issue in London a global ruling against terrorism and suicide bombing. Dr Tahir ul-Qadri, from Pakistan, says his 600-page judgement, known as a fatwa, completely dismantles al-Qaeda’s violent ideology. The scholar describes al-Qaeda as an “old evil with a new name” which has not been sufficiently challenged. The scholar’s movement is growing in the UK and has attracted the interest of policymakers and security chiefs. In his religious ruling, Dr Qadri says that Islam forbids the massacre of innocent citizens and suicide bombings.’

Well, I bet he gets fatwah’d right back! (The old Muslim “My fatwah can beat up your fatwah”-trick!)

Isn’t this a better way?:

Matthew 5:43  Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.  44  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;  45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.  46  For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?  47  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?  48  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
