“If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong; Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before the LORD, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days; And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother; Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you. And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.” (Deu 19:16-20)

The primary difference between the truth and a lie is evidence. Evidence for a claim that is a lie does not exist. Evidence only exists for the truth. A lie is something that never happened.

Our judicial system thrives upon this principle. Things not seen by a judge and jury can only be substantiated by means of evidence or the logic associated with evidence. Willful false testimony against a person that would have the effect of convicting a person of a crime they did not commit would certainly justify a penalty against the false witness that would be equal to the penalty their victim would have suffered.

Opinion polls in the matter of nominee Judge Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court, are irrelevant. Opinions have nothing to do with evidence.

Fake news and dishonesty in the testimony of persons within the FBI and other branches of government is as destructive of our way of life as that of a foreign invader.

The “swamp” will never be drained apart from serious prison terms for the transgression of false testimony.
