MY TWO DONORS

MY TWO DONORS

I had to have a liver transplant in 2017 because I had NASH (Non-alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver). I believe that it was caused by the Agent Orange that I was exposed to in Vietnam.

My donor was a 20-year-old young man from Ohio. He had been in an auto accident. He had talked with his mother and father about wanting to be an organ donor! After he was declared to be brain-dead, his parents moved to fulfill their son’s wishes. At least five people’s lives were blessed by Cody’s donation.

I have been benefited by the tragic death of two individuals: the death of Cody extended my life on earth. The death of Christ gave me eternal life in Heaven. Both of them were donors In the truest sense of the word! A donor is someone who gives something of great value to or for a needy recipient!

Cody donated his precious vital organs. Christ donated His precious blood. I was dying until I got the donated liver. We were dying in our sins. We were sold into bondage in the slave market of sin. Jesus came to the slave market and paid the price of our redemption– – His precious blood. 1 Peter 1:18-19 : “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold…But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot…”

Can you imagine how hurt the donor or the donor’s family would be If the donation was declined? Can you imagine how much greater sorrow there would be if the organ died because of your delay and it was wasted? You might say that it would never happen. You’d be wrong!

People reject Christ and his offer of salvation by His substitutionary death all the time! The question today is, “What will you do with christ?” Someday, the question will be, “What will He do with you? “

Please don’t turn Christ away. Please don’t reject his salvation donation. Confess your need of salvation. Confess that you are a sinner – – Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Call upon Christ to save you Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Won’t you call upon him today? Please don’t turn Him away. Don’t waste His donation.
