Daniel 3:8-20

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king (3:17).

Fire That Liberates

The three Hebrew young men were walking freely in the furnace. The fire did nothing but bring them the presence of the living Lord and burn up their bonds. They were free. So it is that the trials, fires, and floods that overwhelm us in our life free us from the visible world so that we might live in the invisible. Our bodies carry our souls; it is not our souls that carry our bodies. The flame and fire burn our bonds and liberate us to walk in the presence of the great and living God. This is God’s way of preparing us for the victories of the kingdom. “Every one that is called by my name . . . I have created him for My glory” (Isaiah 43:7). This is God’s purpose for us, that we might reign with Christ.

If we suffer with Him, we also shall reign with Him (2 Timothy 2:12). No one could know victory who has not first been in a battle or a conflict. If we are to wear the crown in heaven, we first must bear the cross here on earth. Shall I shun from it? Shall I be intimidated by it? Shall I cower and cringe before the warfare? No!
