Matthew 22:1-22

And they sent out unto Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that Thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest Thou for any man: for Thou regardest not the person of men (22:16).

This I Know

In my Ph.D. oral examination I stood before a group of professors seated around a table. One of them said to me, “I am sure that in your study you have come across scoffers, critics, and skeptics who say that the apostle Paul at his conversion and in his visions suffered from sunstroke, seizures, and epileptic fits.”

I replied, “Yes, sir. I have read that from the pen of critics and scoffers several times.”

The professor asked, “What do you think about that?”

I replied, “Sir, I hold in my hands the Holy Bible, and in that Bible are thirteen books written by the apostle Paul. Read them for yourself. They are inspired letters, literature of the highest order, whether you look at them from the standpoint of poetry, language, imagination, or truth. If they are the result of epilepsy, seizures, and sunstroke, then may God make all of us victims of sunstrokes and seizures.”

The defense of the faith is the man himself, his life, his character, his influence, his work. “This I know. This is my experience.”
